Augustine Rainbow Camp was founded as an inclusion based program where siblings with differing abilities would have the opportunity to encounter an identical summer camp experience together. We have continued this legacy at ARC while serving a few distinct populations: children from the Tremont Neighborhood and Greater Cleveland area, children from St. Augustine Parish, children from the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, as well as children with mild to moderate disabilities, ages 5-13.

The population that is served at Rainbow Camp promotes an environment that is multi-cultural and even multi-lingual with our integration of teaching American Sign Language to all campers through our Specialized Activities! Our goal is to provide a safe, positive, and fun- filled summer camp experience for all of our campers, regardless of nationality, race, religion, disability, or socioeconomic status.

Themed Activities

Every summer we have a theme for our summer camp. Each week has its own sub theme connecting to our main theme. All activities of the week encorporate this theme!

“All Camp”

Every Friday, we spend an afternoon in the park as a full camp. Our groups pair off and travel through a variety of stations and activities planned by the Administrative Team and our Specials teachers. It is the best way to close out the week together as a full camp!

Talent Show

We close out each summer with a “Talent Show” where each group is creates an act to showcase their assigned theme. We love watching our groups come together to show off their various talents!

Incorporating learning throughout the summer is very important to us at Augustine Rainbow Camp! Through our camp’s unique structure, we offer a variety of educational opportunities for our campers to grow over the summer. The campers are grouped by age and participate in a variety of Specials classes throughout the week. They also participate in weekly educational field trips to locations such as the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, the Great Lakes Science Center, and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

Our specials classes include American Sign Language, Physical Education/Sports, Arts and Crafts, and Science. Our staff members who lead these specialized activities have specific qualifications they must meet to be a specials teacher and use the Ohio Learning Standards to plan and facilitate their lessons and activities. This offers opportunities for your child to continue their learning outside of the classroom!

At Rainbow Camp, we make learning fun with hands on activities and experiments!

Character Counts

Character Counts

Character Counts is a program at ARC that helps shape our campers to be positive, engaging, and active citizens. Each week, we focus on a different character trait. Our campers have a lesson on this trait and discuss ways to showcase this trait at camp. At the end of the week, each group picks a camper that has best exemplified that trait at Rainbow Camp to win a prize!

Rainbow Camp is possible each year due to donations!

The new equipment that we get to use, financial scholarships we are able to give our families, and field trips we are able to go on—all are possible because of donors like you!

Please consider donating, if you are able, to help us give our campers an amazing camp experience! Every little bit makes a difference!
